Ramban, Jan 27: Commissioner Secretary of Information Technology, Prerna Puri on Saturday chaired a public darbar in Ramban, focusing on addressing public concerns and evaluating the progress of development works and beneficiary-oriented schemes in the district.
The public darbar was attended by Chairperson of District Development Council, Dr Shamshad Shan, DDC members, public representatives, and the general public. Prerna emphasized the importance of such interfaces to ensure that every individual benefits from welfare and development schemes. She urged proactive engagement between the public and district administration to elevate the development profile of the district.
Highlighting the enhancement of public service delivery, Puri said that more than 1100 government schemes and services are available online. The Department of Information Technology has set Rs.50 as the rate for Common Service Centers (CSC) offering online services, and a helpline number (14471) has been established for public convenience.
Puri assured that public darbars would be a regular and result-oriented feature, emphasizing that issues raised during these sessions would be examined and addressed promptly. She directed the Additional Deputy Commissioner to review the action taken by departments on the highlighted issues before the next public darbar.
DDC Chairperson Dr. Shamshad Shan outlined various developmental achievements in the district and presented demands, including opening the Awaas Plus portal, new ration cards issuance, new BPL survey, increased funding under NABARD, completion of ongoing projects, and more.
During the program, DDC members and public representatives raised issues like construction of overhead bridges, sports infrastructure development, release of funds for road projects, staff deployment in various institutions, Girls Higher Secondary School for Ramban, road project completion, opening of a trauma hospital, and power curtailment.
Prerna Puri inspected stalls set up by various departments, displaying their schemes and programs. She handed over keys and ownership documents to beneficiaries under the MUMKIN scheme, presented loan sanction letters to PMEGP beneficiaries, and provided educational assistance to the children of laborers. Puri also distributed Advance Mobilization Cheques, PMAY-U Grahparvesh keys, and financial assistance under PM SAVINDHI.
The event was attended by ADC Harbans Lal, ACR Giasul Haq, Chief Planning Officer Shakeeb Rather, ACD Ashok Katoch, CEO, CHO, CMO, CAO, GM DIC, CAHO, and other senior officers.
