Jammu, Nov 24: Senior leader of Aam Aadmi Party J&K, Kuldeep Kumar Rao, on Friday highlighted the contrast in governance models between Delhi and Jammu & Kashmir, saying only AAP can provide free electricity up to 200 units and for uninterrupted 24 hours to the people of the union territory, besides addressing unemployment here.
Rao in a statement commended the people of Delhi and Punjab for their “wisdom in electing leaders like Arvind Kejriwal, whose pro-people policies have transformed governance in Delhi”.
He said that the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) is committed to serving the common man, workers, labourers, farmers, and the exploited class of society. “Delhi’s successful governance model, which focuses on serving rather than ruling, could be replicated in Jammu & Kashmir if AAP is voted to power,” he said.
The AAP leader questioned how the Delhi government, led by Kejriwal, manages to provide free uninterrupted power to the public up to 200 units despite not having a source to generate a single unit of electricity. He criticized the present administration in Jammu & Kashmir for supplying around 80 percent of power to the Northern grid, saying this demonstrates a lack of sensitivity and judicial wisdom.
Rao urged the people of J&K to “see through political tactics” and be prepared to reject a government that he described as “anti-farmer, anti-poor, anti-youth, and anti-labour”. He dismissed what he called the “usual drama” and promises of job appointments during elections, asserting that such tactics would not deceive farmers, women, and unemployed educated youths.
Kuldeep said there is a need for political change, citing the failures of past coalitions between established political parties.
Referring to the ruling dispensation’s slogans, Rao criticized them as mere jumlas (empty promises) and urged the people to consider a political change based on the Delhi Model, which he said has gained acclaim both nationally and internationally. This model is a deterrent to rising communalism and radicalization, which pose significant challenges to society, he said.
