Chandigarh, Mar 19: Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) national general secretary Tarun Chugh on Wednesday questioned former Delhi chief minister Arvind Kejriwal’s credentials to make announcements on behalf of the Punjab government.
In a statement issued here, Chugh said, “Kejriwal, who has been on bail and has been facing various criminal charges, has arrogated to himself all powers of Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann giving an impression to the people of the state that he has practically taken over the state governance.”
“Kejriwal has usurped all powers of Bhagwant Mann and has brought shame to the people of the state,” he added.
The BJP leader said the entire state knows that Kejriwal has been plotting his entry into Rajya Sabha through Punjab. “By camping in Ludhiana, Kejriwal is making announcements on behalf of the Punjab government. He is only demonstrating that Bhagwant Mann is a pawn who would be used for the political interests of Kejriwal,” he said.
Expressing his serious concern at the deteriorating law and order situation in Punjab, Chugh said every day there are signals of a complete breakdown of law and order. “Even today, there has been a brutal attack on an AAP leader, besides an attack on the Himachal Roadways bus,” he said.
“The AAP government has lost moral ground to rule the state as there is a complete collapse of governance on all fronts,” Chugh added.
