Srinagar, Jun 20: “The democratically elected government led by Omar Abdullah is working to overcome developmental setbacks and bridge the existing disconnect between the people and the administration,” National Conference (NC) president Dr Farooq Abdullah said on Friday.

In a statement issued here, he said the government is committed to inclusive progress and is prioritising infrastructure development, better delivery of public services, and effective communication with grassroots communities. He made these comments while interacting with the party functionaries in Jammu.

Dr Abdullah said that a people-centric approach is at the core of the NC’s vision, and the current administration is actively addressing issues that have long hindered equitable development across regions.

“Our goal is to ensure that no area feels neglected and that governance reaches every doorstep,” the NC chief said. He reiterated the NC’s commitment to transparency, accountability, and public welfare, calling for collective support in building a stronger, more connected Jammu and Kashmir.

Meanwhile, Dr Abdullah extended warm greetings to the people on the auspicious occasion of Urs Mubarak of Hazrat Syed Muhammad Farid-Ud-din Alias Shah Sahib (RA) and Hazrat Syed Saleh Khan (RA).

In his message, he highlighted the profound spiritual legacy of both revered saints, whose lives were a beacon of peace, compassion, and devotion. He said their teachings continue to inspire generations and foster unity among communities.

The former chief minister prayed for lasting peace, harmony, and prosperity in the region and urged people to follow the path of love, tolerance, and brotherhood shown by the Sufi saints.  He hoped that the Urs would be an occasion for reflection, spiritual growth, and communal bonding, in line with the timeless values preached by the saints
