Srinagar, Feb 14:  On the 4th anniversary of 2019 Pulwama attack, Additional Director General of Police (ADGP) Kashmir Zone, Vijay Kumar Tuesday said out of 19 terrorists involved in the deadly attack, 8 were killed, 7 were arrested and 4 are still hiding in Pakistan.
After paying rich tributes to CRPF Jawans who lost their lives in Pulwama attack, ADGP Kumar said that 19 terrorists were involved in Pulwama attack. Of which, 8 terrorists have been neutralised, 7 were arrested and 4 terrorists are still at large in Pakistan.”
“The police and security forces are after Jaish-e-Muhammad and almost all their top commanders have been neutralized.  During the past three years, the back of JeM has been broken. Today, there is no terrorist active in Pulwama after both Sameer Dar and Zahid were killed,” ADGP Kumar said.
“Now the JeM outfit has only 7-8 locals and 5-6 active Pakistanis including MossaSulemani active in Pulwama will be neutralised soon,” he said.
The top police official said JeM has increased recruitment for the past 6 months now. Won’t let them flourish now in J&K.  Presently there are 37 active terrorists in Kashmir. Two among them including Farooq Nalli and Riyaz Chatri are the oldest and rest joined recently,” he said.
In Srinagar, only two terrorists, Momin and Basit, are active around the Eidgah locality. No new terrorists were recruited in city,” ADGP Kumar said.
“We have a focus on security challenges, including hand grenades, sticky bombs and pistols – used in targeted attacks – ‘Narco terrorism’ and the terror funding’.
Kumar also stated that recently, Special Operations Group (SOG) Srinagar has recovered about Rs 41 lakh. Two days ago in Baramulla they  recovered Rs 26 lakh. There has been a breakthrough in cases registered against OGW networks involved that are being disposed of rapidly, he said.
“The number of such cases have reduced from 1600 in October last year to 950 at present and 13 convictions have also been made so far,” Kumar said.
Meanwhile, several political leaders and officials also paid tributes to the victims of the attack.
The office of the Lt Governor tweeted, “Tributes to the brave martyrs who lost their lives in the gruesome Pulwama attack in 2019. Their valour and sacrifice for the motherland will never be forgotten and will continue to inspire generations to come.”
DGP J&K, Dilbag Singh also paid rich tributes on behalf of entire family of JKP , to the CRPF Jawans who made supreme sacrifice at Pulwama on this day in 2019.
He has said that the nation is indebted to our brave heart martyrs who served the nation  and its citizens till their last breath while making supreme sacrifice of their lives.
As many as 40 CRPF personnel were killed when a Jaish-e-Mohammed (JeM) terrorist rammed an explosives-laden vehicle into a CRPF bus which was part of a convoy travelling from Jammu to Srinagar on February 14, 2019.
The attack on a CRPF convoy prompted India to carry out an airstrike in Pakistan’s Balakote and brought the two countries on the verge of war.
