Srinagar, May 12: Numerous prominent personalities and dedicated workers from various districts on Friday joined the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) here in the presence of Ashok Koul, the General Secretary of the party’s Jammu and Kashmir chapter.
According to a BJP statement issued here, Koul on the occasion remarked that “a growing number of individuals are gradually recognizing the BJP as the most trusted and commendable party nationwide, providing ample opportunities for its workers to showcase their abilities”.
“The event witnessed an attendance of approximately 400 individuals, out of which at least 200 officially joined the BJP, leaving behind their affiliations with the Congress and other local parties,” the statement said.
Ashok Koul said, “Under the dynamic leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Jammu and Kashmir is witnessing remarkable progress and success. The BJP’s vision for a prosperous and inclusive Kashmir has resonated with the people, leading to a growing wave of support for the party. The influx of prominent personalities and committed workers from the Congress and other parties into the BJP reflects the increasing trust and confidence in the party’s ability to bring about positive change to the region.”
The BJP wholeheartedly embraces the new members and values their decision to join the party, reflecting their confidence in the BJP’s vision and leadership, he said.
According to the BJP, the “notable personalities” who departed from the Congress and other parties include Hilal Ahmad Wani (INC), Advocate Sajad Ahmad Ganie (Social Activist), Habibullah Bakshi (Trade union president), Mohd Abass Kohli (Gujjar Leader), Syed Niyaz Indrabi (Social Activist), Abdul Hamid Rather (INC), Sajad Ahmad Wani (Youth Leader), and Nazir Ahmad (Political Activist) and several others.
The BJP remains committed to promoting inclusive governance, fostering development, and upholding the aspirations of the people in the region, the party said, adding that the influx of experienced individuals and passionate workers further strengthens the party’s resolve to serve the nation.
