Jammu, Jan 25: Northern Railway's Jammu Division has achieved a significant milestone with the first-ever arrival of a 12 BCN cement rake from Adani Company at Chhann Arorian Goods Shed on January 23.

The rake consisted of 8 wagons of ACC cement and 4 wagons of Ambuja cement. This 12 BCN cement rake weighed approximately 790 tons. Previously, the Chhann Arorian Goods Shed primarily received cement rakes from UltraTech Cement.

This achievement was made possible under the leadership of Uchit Singhal, Senior Divisional Commercial Manager of Jammu Division, and through coordination with other cement companies.

This step marks the beginning of a new era in the development of logistics and infrastructure in the region and represents a significant achievement in the logistics sector.

Key features include faster and safer supply of cement through rail transport compared to road transport. The availability of large quantities of cement via rail will accelerate ongoing infrastructure projects (roads, bridges, houses) in Jammu and surrounding areas.

On this occasion, Uchit Singhal, Senior Divisional Commercial Manager, said, "The logistics and freight network in Jammu Division is being strengthened day by day.  Previously, the Chhann Arorian Goods Shed mainly received rakes from UltraTech Cement. This is the result of continuous contact with other cement companies, which has led to the arrival of ACC and Ambuja cement rakes at the Chhann Arorian Goods Shed.”

“Further coordination with other cement companies is also underway. Now, with the commencement of supplies, the railway is ready to serve the entire region better through its best possible efforts.”
