A non-local labour from Uttar Pradesh was shot and injured after suspected terrorists opened fire at Batgund Tral in south Kashmir. He was shifted for medical aid with minor injury.
A police officer told Rising Kashmir that terrorists fired upon migrant labourer at Batgund Tral village of Pulwama and injured civilian was shifted to hospital, where his condition is stated to be stable. He has been identified as Shubam Kumar (19) S/O Pritam Singh.
Area being cordoned off for search operation,” he said.
“Terrorists have used pistol for the attack.We have registered the case and investigation is underway. The entire area has been cordoned and searches are going on,” the officer said.
He said the investigation is in progress and officers continue to work to establish the full circumstances of this terror crime.
Soon after the attack, senior officers of Police and CRPF rushed to the spot. Teams of J&K Police and Army cordoned off the area to trace and arrest the terrorists involved in the attack.
On Sunday, seven persons including a doctor and engineer from J&K and five migrant workers – three from Bihar and one each from MP and Punjab, were killed in a deadly terrorist attack on a camp set up by APCO Infratech company building a 6.5 km Z-Morh tunnel.
This tunnel connects Gaganeer to Sonamarg in Central Kashmir’s Ganderbal district and will provide all-weather connectivity between J&K and Ladakh.
The civilian killings by terrorists have drawn widespread condemnation and Lt Governor Manoj Sinha has vowed that security forces will avenge the civilian killings.
