Srinagar, Apr 08: A non-local cab driver was injured after being shot by terrorists in Padpawan, area of south Kashmir’s Shopian district, Police said on Monday.
The injured driver was identified as Paramjit Singh (Driver), a resident of Delhi. He was rushed to hospital by locals with bullet injuries in critical condition. The attack took place in the evening. Attackers managed to take advantage of the darkness and fled from the spot.
A police officer told Rising Kashmir that terrorists fired upon cab driver at Padpawan village of Shopian. injured civilian was shifted to hospital, where his condition is stated to be stable. Area being cordoned off for search operation,” he said.
“Terrorists have used pistol for the attack.We have registered the case and investigation is underway. The entire area has been cordoned and searches are going on,” the officer said.
He said Police have registered a case in this regard under relevant sections of law. The investigation is in progress and officers continue to work to establish the full circumstances of this terror crime,” the officer said.
Soon after the attack, senior officers of Police and CRPF rushed to the spot. Teams of J&K Police and Army cordoned off the area to trace and arrest the terrorists involved in the attack.
