Srinagar: The Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha today said a handful of people will get affected by the new land laws and these are those people who have taken 100 crore properties for Rs 5 and are ruling the roost. “These people are trying to mislead the people,” the LG said.
“It is a fact that some 400-500 people are going to impact…these are those people who have taken 100 crore properties for Rs 5. They are trying to mislead the people,” Sinha said.
The LG added that no poor or common people or shopkeepers will be affected by the new laws.
Sinha was talking to media persons in Jammu. The LG said the existing land laws in J&K were regressive and were in no way farmer friendly.
“We have replaced those laws with the new laws to make life easy for the farmers. We have provided land passbooks. Not a single person will be affected negatively. Everyone will take benefit out of it,” he said.
He said the Supreme Court’s rulings and judgements apply to the whole of country and will apply to J&K too.
