Srinagar, Jan 18: Divisional Commissioner Kashmir, Vijay Kumar Bidhuri on Thursday extended an open invitation to people to participate in 76th Republic Day celebrations at Bakshi Stadium Srinagar and stated that there is no need of any special pass or permit for individuals eager to attend the mega event.

Speaking to Rising Kashmir’s Senior Correspondent Irfan Yattoo, Div Com Bidhuri highlighted the significance of January 26 and expressed expectations for a massive turnout similar to the support witnessed during the 15th August celebrations at Bakshi Stadium. He referred to the encouragement from LG Manoj Sinha for active participation, declaring it a festival for everyone.
“LG Manoj Sinha has already urged people to actively take part in the January 26 celebrations in Srinagar, emphasizing that it is a festival for everyone. This inclusive decision aims to encourage a widespread and enthusiastic involvement of citizens in the commemorative event,” he said.
The Div Com assured that cultural programs at Bakshi Stadium will have no restrictions on public movement, and a valid ID card will suffice for entry. Security measures are in place, with intensified arrangements in specific areas to ensure the safety of all attendees, including the police force.
About security measures in Kashmir, Div Com Bidhuri said security arrangements are in place, and in certain areas, they have been intensified to ensure the safety and security of all attendees, including the police force.
“Those days are gone, when there used be restrictions on public movement and internet bans; now everything is normal with the efforts of LG Sinha led administration,” he said
Div Com assured that all requisite arrangements for the event have been meticulously finalized to ensure a seamless and vibrant celebration. Everything will run smoothly, and everyone is encouraged to participate enthusiastically in this grand event, he added.
Div Com further conveyed his optimism about the event’s success and encouraged residents of Srinagar to join in, invoking a sense of pride and patriotism as the nation celebrates 76th Republic Day.
It is pertinent to mention that earlier special passes were issued to people participating in the Republic Day celebrations in Srinagar and other parts of Valley.
Last year on 15th August, a large number of people participated in the Independence Day celebrations in Srinagar.
