Srinagar, Mar 06: The Government of Jammu and Kashmir announced on Thursday that no new Detailed Project Report (DPR) has been developed for the expansion of the Magam-Beerwah-Budgam road.

In response to a query from Dr. Shafi Ahmad Wani during the Assembly session, the Minister in charge said that the widening project for the Magam-Beerwah-Budgam road, previously sanctioned under the CRF (now CRIF) for an amount of Rs 31.85 crore, has been completed. This project involved increasing the road width from 12 feet to 18 feet over a length of 31 kilometers and was finalized in 2022.

The Minister further noted that the 1-kilometer segment from Magam to Sonpah Junction is being transferred to the Border Roads Organization as part of National Highway-701A for the purpose of widening and upgrading.

Additionally, the Minister indicated that the Action Plan for NABARD RIDF XXXI (2025-26) is still under development. However, the construction of bridges at Takiyabal Beerwah (costing Rs. 1678 lakh) and Chewdara Beerwah (costing Rs. 1739 lakh) has been approved under NABARD RIDF-XXIX, with work on both structures currently underway.

A Project Report for the construction of a bridge at Goripora Kandoora Beerwah has been prepared, amounting to Rs 15.35 crore.
