Takes stock of preparations for SANJY-2024, Yoga Diwas& Eid celebrations
Srinagar, June 15: Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha today presided over a high-level meeting to review the security situation and the progress of various development projects in the Kashmir Division. The meeting saw the participation of senior officials, including Chief Secretary AtalDulloo, Principal Secretary Home Department ShChandrakerBharti, ADGP Law & Order Vijay Kumar, ADGP CID Nitish Kumar, IGP Kashmir Vidhi Kumar Birdi, Principal Secretary to the Lt Governor Dr Mandeep Kumar Bhandari, Divisional Commissioner Kashmir Vijay Bidhuri, along with DIGs, Deputy Commissioners, SSPs, and other senior officials.
The Lt Governor emphasized the need for the Civil and Police administration to work in close coordination with security agencies to dismantle the terror ecosystem. He underscored that individuals aiding and abetting terrorism must be dealt with strictly.
During the meeting, Lt Governor Sinha sought reports from the DCs and SSPs on the measures taken to curb drug abuse in their respective districts. The preparations for the ShriAmarnathJiYatra, Yoga Diwas, and Eid-ul-Adha celebrations were also discussed, with a focus on security and traffic management, road upgrades, designated areas for tents and langar services, RFID Cards, and the full implementation of pre-paid services for ponies and pithoos.
In addition to security discussions, the Lt Governor reviewed the progress of various development projects, the delivery of public services, and the implementation of the Holistic Agriculture Development Programme (HADP) along with other government-run schemes and programs.
Lt Governor Sinha also congratulated the DCs and SSPs for the successful and peaceful conduct of the Parliamentary elections and the Mata KheerBhawaniMela, commending their efforts in maintaining peace and order during these events.
