Srinagar, Aug 31:  National Institute of Technology (NIT) Srinagar has successfully completed B.Tech admissions for the year 2023 in a smooth and efficient manner.
The admissions to various B.Tech programs across the nation, including prestigious institutes such as IITs and NITs, are administered by the Joint Seat Allocation Authority (JOSAA).
The 2023 admission cycle witnessed six regular rounds of seat allocation by JOSAA, commencing on June 30, 2023, and concluding on July 28, 2023. Following this, two special rounds were conducted by the Central Seat Allocation Board (CSAB) to allocate remaining seats across different institutions.
Under the esteemed leadership of Prof. (Dr) Sudhakar Yedla, Director NIT Srinagar, the institute undertook a pioneering approach to streamline the admission process, ensuring convenience and a seamless experience for the newly admitted students.
An essential aspect of this admission process was the rigorous online scrutiny of documents to verify the eligibility and qualifying credentials of allocated candidates. NIT Srinagar played a pivotal role in this process by ensuring that candidates met the necessary criteria and confirming their seat allotments.
To facilitate a smooth transition for the newly allotted candidates, NIT Srinagar announced its physical reporting schedule on July 24, 2023. The institute went above and beyond by providing transportation facilities from the Airport and Tourist Reception Center (TRC) to the NIT Srinagar Campus.
Dedicated counters were set up at both locations, adorned with NIT banners, to guide and assist the incoming students and their parents.
A meticulous survey was conducted to identify suitable accommodations for students and their families. A list of nearby hotels offering discounted rates was made available on the institute’s website, allowing parents & guardians to make informed choices about their stay.
Moreover, parents accompanying the students were provided with on-campus accommodations for a limited period.
The registration process was designed to be comprehensive and efficient, ensuring that students completed all necessary formalities in a single day under one roof.
The institute’s visionary approach brought together various registration counters under one roof, including Hospital, Sports, Computer Services Center (CSC), Library, Bank, Institute Accounts, Hostel, and Mess Counters.
This unique arrangement minimized the need for students to visit different offices, enhancing convenience and expediting the process. At the end of the registration, every student had received their Institute ID Card & email ID, Hostel Room Allocation in addition to a personal bank account.
Prof. Sudhakar Yedla’s visionary leadership played a crucial role in making this innovative approach a reality.
The Director’s commitment to efficiency and student well-being enabled NIT Srinagar to achieve this remarkable feat of completing all registration activities for a particular specialization/branch in a single day under one roof.
Prof. Yedla further said that this unique feat was only possible with the hard work of the Academic Section ably led by the Dean, Academic Affairs.
