Nidhi Aapke Nikat 2.0: PF Commissioner Rizwan Uddin sensitizes stakeholders

Udhampur, May 29: Employees’ Provident Fund Organisation (EPFO) Regional Office, Jammu held an awareness-cum-outreach programme on “Nidhi Aapke Nikat 2.0” at Udhampur to address the grievances of all the stakeholders including employees and employers by bringing them on a common platform.
The stakeholders were sensitized about the new initiatives undertaken in their interest by the organization (EPFO Jammu). The programme was conducted in collaboration with District Administration, Udhampur at Conference Hall DC Office Complex, Udhampur.
Deputy Commissioner, Udhampur Sachin Kumar Vaishya addressed the participants while Rizwan Uddin, Regional P F Commissioner – I, J&K and Ladakh presided over the programme and addressed the officers, contractors, schools and representatives of industries. He was accompanied by Amit Jakhmola, Enforcement Officer. Additional District Development Commissioner, Ghan Sham Singh, Additional Deputy Commissioner, Joginder Singh Jasrotia, Chief Planning Officer, Mudassir Yaqoob Zargar, GM DIC, Pankaj Anand, ACD, Dr Ranjeet Kotwal and other officers besides other stakeholders attended the meeting. 
At the inaugural session, Deputy Commissioner Udhampur pointed out the relevance of social security to the families of the working class, who in eventuality are protected financially through the Insurance and Pension Schemes of EPFO. He asked the participants to sensitize the organized workers in their respective departments so that eligible workers can avail the benefits of the PF scheme. He urged the organized workers to come forward and avail the benefits of these PF schemes.
P F Commissioner gave a detailed power point presentation about the benefits of the EPF scheme. He informed that after the abrogation of Article 370, the EPF & MP Act 1952 and the schemes framed there under are applicable in the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir. He apprised the participants about the Employees’ Provident Fund Scheme 1952 and Employees’ Pension Scheme 1995 (EPS-95) as well as the Employees’ Deposit Linked Insurance Scheme (EDLI) and their benefits. 
Rizwan Uddin informed the participants about the salient features of the Employees Deposit Linked Insurance Scheme 1976. Under this scheme maximum assured benefit of up to Rs.7 lakh is paid to the nominee or legal heir of an EPF member if death occurs while in service he added. It is noteworthy to mention that benefits of pension and insurance are available to workers through the Employees’ Pension Scheme, 1995 and Employees’ Deposit Linked Insurance, Scheme, 1976 with effect from November 2019 in the UTs of Jammu & Kashmir and Ladakh.
Later, the PF Commissioner interacted with the media and threw light on the salient features of the Employees’ Provident Fund Scheme, Employees’ Pension Scheme 1995 (EPS-95) as well as Employees’ Deposit Linked Insurance Scheme (EDLI), with special emphasis on Pension and Insurance Schemes, as these schemes have driven home for the people who work in risky zones.
