NIA court issues proclamation against wanted terrorist in Kulgam

Srinagar, Oct 04: The Court of Special Judge (Designated Court under the NIA Act) Kulgam, has issued a Proclamation under Section 84 of the BNSS aagainst a wanted terrorist involved in various terror-related activities in the district. The proclamation has been issued against Zakir Ahmad Ganie, son of Ghulam Mohi-ud-din Ganie of Mutalhama, Kulgam. He is wanted in connection with FIR No. 200/2023 registered at Police Station Kulgam under Sections 13, 16, 18B, 20, and 38 of the Unlawful Activities Prevention Act (UAPA), due to his involvement in unlawful and terror activities. The court has granted Ganie 30 days to surrender to the appropriate authorities. Failure to do so will lead to further legal action as per the law. Before the proclamation, the court had already issued an open-ended Non-Bailable Warrant (NBW) against him. Acting on court directives, a police team led by DySP Headquarters Kulgam pasted the proclamation order at his residence and other prominent public places within the village to ensure broad publicity and compliance.
