RO KASHMIR organizes ‘Nidhi Aapke Nikat’ program in Kupwara

Srinagar, April 29: “Nidhi Aapka Nikat” an outreach program of EPFO was organized by Regional Office Kashmir at Kupwara on Monday.
It is a participatory awareness and outreach programme for the employees and employers simultaneously acting as a grievance redressal platform for members and information exchange network.
The aim of the program was to strength the relationship between the Organisation and its stake holders.
The awareness program under the guidance of Mr. Vinay Kumar Regional Provident Fund Commissioner-II/OIC was led by Enforcement Officer Mr. Latif Ahmad Zargar, Abdul Rashid Mir SSA, Ahmar Rashid Shah SSA & Mehraj ur Rehman SSA which witnessed active participation of employers/employees of different establishments amid heavy rainfall as Kupware was cut off from rest of the valley and roads were damaged and closed due to incessant rains and flash floods at many places.
The visiting officials of EPFO RO Kashmir had to walk on foot for few kilometers to reach the venue and were able to conduct the program successfully. During the session the participants were informed about applicability of EPF and Miscellaneous Provisions Act, 1952, Provisions of the Employees’ Pension Scheme 1995 and Linked Insurance Scheme 1976, e-nominations & KYC.
The theme of this month’s “Nidhi Aapka Nikat” program was Pensioners Services – I which included Member Pension & Death Pension, Widow/Widower Pension, Orphan Pension & Disablement Pension. During the program the participants were informed about the importance of enrolling employees under PF and Pension Fund and the need for timely contributions to protect their families in the event of any untoward incidents was emphasized. Benefit of Insurance under EDLI were informed to the participants wherein assured benefit of 2.5 lacs up to maximum of 7 lacs will be given to the nominee of the deceased upon his death in harness if the deceased has rendered more than one year of continuous service as a member of EPFO.
A special Pension/Grievance Help Desk was setup in the camp for quick redressal of pensioners’ problems, settlement of on-spot grievances, integration of various UAN and EPF accounts, procedure for linking KYC to UAN account, solving the problems of the employers, name correction etc. The participants thanked EPFO authorities for conducting such awareness programmes and hoped that such programs shall continue to be conducted in future also so that more and more employees are benefited by the social security schemes provided by EPFO India.
