Namaz The essence of Muslims

Namaz is the hall mark of the Muslims. It is the only act that differentiates Muslims from non Muslims because good deeds like being humble, helping and kind is prescribed by all the religions of the world even atheists do good deeds. These acts are universal.

If we see a person helping needy people we cannot say whether he is Muslim or not but if we see a person offering Namaz we can verily say he is a Muslim because Namaz is the label and essence of a Muslim. Only Muslims offer Namaz.

It’s not a supplementary act rather it is compulsory and mandatory form of worship which all Muslims have to adhere .The benefits of offering Namaz are commendable and innumerable. It is a worship, exercise and psychotherapy.

If we take Namaz as worship it connects us directly with our creator Allah subhan wa tAllah .It is a bond between creator and a believer. It creates a love for Allah in a person’s heart and love for person in Allah. Salah is the cure for broken heart, lost mind and dead soul. It rejuvenates iman.

Offering Namaz is a biggest blessing; that Allah bestows only to his loved believers. Allah bestows worldly blessings like a bungalow, car, job, money and land to everyone; even a non believer also; but he bestows the opportunity to offer Salah only to fortunate and loved believers.

Prophet Mohammad (PBUH) has said Namaz sheds the sins of a person like a tree sheds its leaves in auttum. It abstains believers from committing sins and raises the conscience level.

Besides , Namaz has a cathartic effect also.In Namaz a person gives vent to his fears ,desires, needs pains and worries. This emotional unburdening relieves the heart and brings spiritual solace.

A person feels calm, relieved and blessed .Our troubles vanish like bubbles .No Psychotherapy is as relieving and effective as Namaz. It gives one patience and endurance to fight with all the odds. It empowers a person. It broadens ones horizon and develops insight in a person.

A person who fears Allah don’t had to  fear anyone .it develops humility in a person and ends arrogance from hearts because when a person bows down before a creator he gets a feeling that i am a slave and servant of Allah .This feeling sheds the arrogance from hearts.

Research has shown that salah is a psychological therapy that helps calm the soul and relieves all tension and stress. It extends concentration, and generates feeling of humility, modesty, and piety which is very important to the soul.

When we open our wishes and desires, problems and troubles in front of Allah subhan wa tallah who is the lord of the heavens, he listens and responds. He eases our worries, removes our fears and blesses us with his mercy. We feel secure in Namaz because we feel that we are in the protection of most powerful –the Almighty Allah.

In Namaz one seeks repentance for his sins and this eases the burden on conscience. Some people live in a delusion that due to busy schedule they couldn’t get time to offer salah; but they need to ponder that what a grave mistake they had done owing to which Almighty didn’t allow them to stand in front of him.
