Lal Chowk, Hazratbal lead as Rs 23.34 Cr released for 781 works

Rs 38 crore funds allocated to 8 MLAs since Oct 2024

Srinagar, Mar 28: The Finance Department of Jammu and Kashmir has released a total of Rs 23.34 crore in favour of eight Assembly segments for 781 works uploaded on the Budget Estimation, Allocation and Monitoring System (BEAMS) portal since October 2024.

 

As per the details shared by the Finance Department, a total of Rs 38 crore has been allocated to the eight Assembly constituencies across Srinagar, amounting to Rs 4.75 crore for each segment.

 

The details reveal that since the new dispensation took over in Jammu and Kashmir in October 2024, the highest number of works till March 5, 2026 have been uploaded on the portal from Hazratbal and Lal Chowk constituencies, with 119 works each, followed by 112 each from Habba Kadal and Central Shalteng.

 

The lowest number of works, 38, has been uploaded from Eidgah constituency during the period. As per the details, 105 works have been uploaded from Zadibal AC, 96 from Chanapora AC and 80 from Khanyar AC.

 

The total uploaded cost of these works stands at Rs 28.72 crore, while Rs 23.34 crore has been released till March 5, 2026, as per data shared by the Finance Department.

 

Sharing the constituency-wise details, it has been revealed that the uploaded cost of 119 works in Hazratbal constituency is Rs 4.66 crore, while Rs 3.94 crore has been released. Similarly, in Lal Chowk constituency, the same number of works has an uploaded cost of Rs 3.94 crore, of which Rs 2.92 crore has been released till March 5, 2026.

 

In Habba Kadal and Central Shalteng constituencies, 112 works each have an uploaded cost of Rs 3.56 crore and Rs 3.82 crore, respectively. A total of Rs 3.01 crore has been released for Habba Kadal and Rs 3.06 crore for Central Shalteng.

 

Similarly, in Zadibal constituency, a total of 105 works have been uploaded, with an uploaded cost of Rs 4.29 crore, while Rs 3.55 crore has been released.

 

The uploaded cost of 96 works in Chanapora constituency stands at Rs 3.50 crore, with Rs 2.87 crore released till March 28.

 

In Khanyar constituency, 80 works have been recorded with an uploaded cost of Rs 3.04 crore, while Rs 2.53 crore has been released.

 

The lowest number of works, 38 in Eidgah constituency, has an uploaded cost of Rs 1.89 crore, of which Rs 1.35 crore has been released.

The Constituency Development Fund (CDF) Scheme has been reintroduced during 2024-25 in pursuance of the decision of the Council of Ministers vide Decision No. 035/04/2025 dated 03.03.2025, the Finance Department said in a reply to a query by a legislator.

 

“Accordingly, during the current financial year 2025-26, an amount of Rs 42,750.00 lakh has been earmarked under the CDF Scheme at the rate of Rs 475.00 lakh per MLA, comprising Rs 75.00 lakh as due share of the year 2024-25 and Rs 400.00 lakh for the year 2025-26,” it reads.
