Kashmir parts receive light snow, rains

Weather to improve from today: Met

 The upper reaches of the Valley Thursday received light snowfall while rains lashed the plains.
The Metrological department has predicted improvement in weather from Friday afternoon.
As per the weatherman, Gulmarg, Baramulla, Kupwara and Bandipora and other upper reaches received 3-4 cm of light snowfall today.
He said plains in Kashmir and Jammu received light rains.
The MeT official said Srinagar recorded 2.2 millimeters of rainfall, Qazigund 1.2 mm, Pahalgam 2 mm, and Kupwara 2.3 mm.
The other parts of the valley received light rains, he said.
The MeT official said cloudy weather conditions would prevail over the region till Friday afternoon and thereafter weather would remain clear till week end.
A Traffic department official said there would be a one-way traffic on Srinagar-Jammu highway tomorrow and vehicles would be allowed to ply from Jammu to Srinagar.
“No vehicles will be allowed from the opposite direction,” he said.
