"India’s message of peace is a way out in world of conflicts”, Darakhshan Andrabi at Global Peace event

  Srinagar, Mar 29: A global and national gathering of parliamentarians, diplomats and intellectuals was held at SKICC, where Swami Vivekanand International Peace and Spiritual Cultural Centre, in collaboration with Zenith Book of World Records and World Star Records, organised a one-day convention. Held as a global event on peace and harmony, the occasion was graced by Chairperson of Jammu and Kashmir Waqf Board, Dr Syed Darakhshan Andrabi, as the chief guest. Mahatme, former MP, eminent jurist Dr Harendraroy Yadav, and yoga expert Acharya Shri Raja Shastri were also present during the felicitation ceremony. The event also saw the participation of politicians, bureaucrats, diplomats and prominent intellectuals from Nepal. A peace dialogue was held between Nepali and Indian think tanks from across the country. Various awards were presented by Dr Darakhshan Andrabi in different categories. Addressing the gathering, Dr Andrabi said that Kashmir has strived for peace for decades and that the government under Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s leadership has ushered in a new phase of peace and development. “Before 2019, we were known for violence, innocent killings, terror attacks, strikes and curfews,

but now the decisions taken by the government have changed the situation. We are now conveying messages of peace to the world,” she said. She added that those who have witnessed violence understand the value of peace. “With an improved atmosphere, youth are now contributing in different sectors and playing a role in the country’s growth. It is our collective responsibility to sustain this environment so that future generations benefit from peace, coexistence and harmony,” she said. Dr Andrabi congratulated the awardees and urged them to continue their work. She also thanked Dr Rajib Pal for presenting her the Zenith Book of Records Honour for her contribution to peace and harmony.
