Eleven persons died of COVID-19 in Kashmir during the past 24 hours, taking the number of casualties to 520 in J&K, while 540 fresh cases were reported on Friday, officials said.
As per the government, the fresh casualties include six from Srinagar, followed by Pulwama and Anantnag two each, and Kupwara one.
With the fresh casualties, the death toll due to the novel coronavirus has soared to 520 in J&K, which includes 481 from Kashmir and 39 from Jammu.
So far, Srinagar has reported 169 deaths, Baramulla 86, Budgam 38, Anantnag 37, Pulwama 35, Kupwara 32, Kulgam 31, Shopian 24, Bandipora 18, and Ganderbal 11.
In Jammu division, Jammu district has reported 27 deaths, Rajouri three, Doda, Poonch and Udhampur two each, and Ramban, Kathua, Samba one each.
J&K reported 540 fresh coronavirus cases on Friday which include 421 from Kashmir and 119 from Jammu, pushing the total number of cases to 27,489.
Today’s cases include 108 from Srinagar, Jammu 67, Kupwara 65, Bandipora 50, Baramulla 47, Budgam 37, Ganderbal 32, Pulwama and Anantnag 31 each, Kulgam 12, Kathua nine, Shopian, Udhampur and Reasi eight each, Poonch six, Rajouri, Ramban, Doda and Kishtwar four each.
The government said of the 7,75,333 test results available, 7,47,844 returned negative and 27,489 positive which include 7027 active positive cases while 19,942 have recovered and been discharged including 640 persons discharged during the past 24 hours.
It said, so far, 4,09,414 persons had been put under observation including 41,737 in home quarantine and 7027 in isolation while 47,531 people are under home surveillance and 3,12,599 persons have completed their surveillance period.
In Kashmir, Srinagar has a total of 6680 cases, followed by Baramulla with 2351, Pulwama 2016, Budgam 1714, Anantnag 1709, Kulgam 1688, Shopian 1553, Kupwara 1459, Bandipora 1301, and Ganderbal 849.
In Jammu division, Jammu district has 1843 cases, Rajouri 778, Kathua 645, Udhampur 642, Ramban 623, Samba 546, Doda and Poonch 331 each, Reasi 265, and Kishtwar 180.
