Civilian killed in accidental fire, Cop arrested: ADGP Kashmir

Additional Director General of Police Kashmir Range Vijay Kumar on Wednesday said that the cop whose service rifle had gone off accidentally killing a civilian in south Kashmir’s Pulwama district has been arrested and a formal case has been registered against him.

 

 

In a statement, ADGP Kashmir said, "Today while on duty at Haal Pulwama, rifle of a Policeman accidentally went off resulting in injuries to a person. The injured person was immediately evacuated to the hospital by Police."

 

 

"Later on, the injured person namely Mohd Asif Padroo S/O Mohd Ayub Padroo R/O Poterwaal Shopian succumbed to his injuries at hospital. Poliche has registered a case and Policeman arrested. Further investigation is going on", he said
