Water supply to remain disrupted in Srinagar parts

Srinagar, Apr 5: The authorities have issued a public notice informing residents that potable water supply in major parts of Srinagar and adjoining areas is likely to remain disrupted for approximately 24 hours starting Monday morning.

 

According to the notice, the disruption is due to urgent repair works of the Sindh Power Canal scheduled to be carried out by Construction & Mechanical Division (CMD) Ganderbal on April 6. The repair work is expected to affect raw water supply to Water Treatment Plants at Alusteng and Rangil.

 

Officials stated that the water supply will remain affected from 6:00 a.m. on Monday (April 6) to 6:00 a.m. on Tuesday (April 7), causing inconvenience to residents across multiple localities.

 

The areas likely to face disruption include Zakoora, Gulab Bagh, Alusteng, Khalmulla, Habak, Naseem Bagh, Buchpora, Soura, Anchar, Zoonimar, Nowshera, Hawal, Rajouri Kadal, Nowhatta, Lal Bazar, Nigeen, Rainawari (parts), Khanyar, Nawab Bazar, Habba Kadal, Karan Nagar, Chattabal, Eidgah, Qamarwari, and several adjoining areas.

 

The department has urged the general public to store sufficient water in advance to meet their requirements during the disruption period.

The authorities have expressed regret over the inconvenience caused and assured that efforts will be made to restore normal supply at the earliest.
