New Criminal Laws designed to meet modern challenges: DIG CKR

Srinagar, March 08: Deputy Inspector General of Police Central Kashmir range, Rajiv Pandey Saturday said that the new criminal laws are designed to meet the modern challenges effectively.
He was speaking at the awareness programme at Marriage Hall, Nallabandpora, Chatabal Srinagar that drew a significant turnout of locals, including members of the Coordination Committee, Intizamia Committee, students and government employees.
A statement issued here said that during the session, DIG CKR addressed local concerns raised by attendees, resolving several issues on the spot, while providing a comprehensive overview of how the new criminal laws are designed to meet modern challenges effectively. He emphasised the laws focus on enhancing public welfare and safety applauding the enthusiastic participation of the community as a testament to their trust in the police force. DIG CKR reiterated the unwavering dedication of J&K Police to safeguarding the region and strengthening ties with the public.
Accompanying the DIG were SP North Showkat Ahmad Dar, SDPO MR Gunj Junaid Wali, and other senior officers, who supplemented the session with detailed presentations on the new criminal laws. Their insights highlighted the progressive features of the legislation, aimed at ensuring justice that is both accessible and equitable for all. The event underscored the J&K Police’s commitment to fostering public engagement and ensuring a deeper understanding of the legal reforms aimed at delivering swift and people-centric justice. The event concluded with a renewed sense of collaboration between the police and the community, reflecting a shared commitment to a safer and more just society.
