Never stop chasing your dreams: LG to youth

Jammu, Dec 04: In a momentous celebration, Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha participated in the Silver Jubilee festivities of Delhi Public School, Jammu, extending congratulations to the administration, teachers, and students for their commendable contributions to education and social transformation.
Under the guidance of Maharaja Hari Singh Social & Education Foundation Trust and Rajput Charitable Trust, the esteemed institution has played a pivotal role in shaping the future of young talents, as highlighted by the Lt Governor in his address.
Emphasizing the evolving landscape of education, Shri Manoj Sinha underscored the necessity to reimagine traditional classroom learning concepts. He described schools as the cradle of future leaders, emphasizing their role in fostering creativity, character building, and reinforcing societal values.
“The real challenge before our education system is to promote learning beyond the classroom and impart life skills,” stated the Lt Governor, urging the teaching community and educational institutions to align with the best practices outlined in the National Education Policy to bridge learning gaps.
Highlighting the transformative possibilities brought forth by the National Education Policy, Manoj Sinha stressed the importance of creating an environment conducive to critical thinking, creativity, individuality, and inquisitiveness.
Addressing the students, he encouraged them to pursue their passions and believe in their abilities, delivering a resounding message: “Never stop chasing your dreams. Discover what you really love doing, strive continuously to achieve new goals, reflect on your greatest passion, and never ever stop believing in yourself.”
Ajatshatru Singh, former Minister and President of Rajput Charitable Trust, J&K, expressed gratitude to the Lt Governor for his encouraging presence and inspirational words, affirming the dedication of the faculty and students.
Dr. Ritu Singh, Pro-Vice Chairperson of DPS Jammu, highlighted initiatives like ‘Project Vriddhi’ and ‘Project Roshni,’ aimed at fostering inclusivity and technological empowerment for societal betterment.
Later, Lt Governor Manoj Sinha inaugurated the Roshni lab dedicated to the empowerment of visually impaired students. He also felicitated winners of the NHPC painting competition and girls from rural areas who successfully completed the basic course on computer education under the ‘Vriddhi’ project.
Students of DPS Jammu presented a Book Report to the Lt Governor, showcasing their entrepreneurial project on river cleaning using drone technology.
Among those who participated in the event included S.S. Sodhi, Director DPS Jammu, along with principals, teachers, and students from DPS Jammu, DPS SMVDU-Katra, DPS Nagbani, and distinguished personalities from various walks of life.
