Jammu and Kashmir Apni Party general secretary Rafi Ahmad Mir on Tuesday said that the process to form alliance with the like-minded parties for the upcoming Lok Sabha polls will be started from tomorrow and that no decision has been taken to ally with any party yet.
Speaking exclusively with KNS, Mir said that the reports about alliance between Ghulam Nabi Azad led DPAP and Apni Party are baseless as the process is yet to be started.
He said that the party leaders in a meeting held yesterday has decided to explore the possibility of forming alliance with the like-minded parties in Jammu and Kashmir for the forthcoming Lok Sabha polls.
He said the process will be started from tomorrow and that no final decision to ally with any party has been taken yet.
“We will hold deliberations with the like-minded parties and then decide with which party to go with to contest the Lok Sabha polls,” he said.
Earlier, reports suggested that Apni Party is likely to form alliance with Ghulam Nabi Azad led DPAP, however, Mir denied such reports as baseless.
On Monday, Apni Party during a meeting authorised its president Altaf Bukhari to explore the possibility of forming an alliance with the like-minded parties in Jammu and Kashmir. (KNS)
