Kangan, Sept 11: In a key campaign event at Surfarw Gund, National Conference (NC) candidate from Kangan, Mian Mehar Ali pledged to focus on the development of seven major lakes in Kashmir, including the well-known Tarsar and Mansar lakes, if elected.
Addressing a large gathering of local residents, Mehar Ali stressed the need to harness the region’s natural resources to boost tourism and create job opportunities. “Our lakes are treasures. He said that if people give me a mandate we will prioritize their development and construct eco-friendly homestays at Tarsar and Mansar, giving a significant push to tourism while creating employment for our youth,” he said.
Emphasizing the importance of sustainable and environment-friendly initiatives, Ali assured voters that these development efforts would not harm the region’s fragile ecosystem. “We will ensure that any development is conducted in harmony with nature, safeguarding the pristine beauty of these lakes,” he added.
Along with tourism, Mehar Ali promised to focus on infrastructure development, including improved roads and better public transportation, to make these lakes more accessible to tourists and locals alike.
