Srinagar, July 23: Jammu and Kashmir National Conference provincial president Nasir Aslam Wani led party functionaries in offering floral tributes and fatiha at the final resting place of veteran party leader Ghulam Nabi Wani Sogami on his 42nd death anniversary at Sogam.
Joined in by numerous party functionaries, office bearers and the party’s local unit functionaries, Nasir offered fatiha and floral tributes. Party’s North Zone President Javed Dar, District President Kupwara Qaisar Jamsheed Lone, Din Muhammad Cheetah, YNC, DDC members and prominent citizens were also present on the occasion.
Later, Nasir presided over a commemorative function in Kupwara. The party leaders including Shariefudin Shariq, Mir Saifullah, Javed Dar, Qaiser Jamsheed Lone, Kafeel ur Rehman paid rich tributes to the veteran leader and recalled his contributions. The functionaries lauded the concept of Water Harvesting for the Kandi belt of Kupwara introduced by him in the 1950s. They also highlighted his efforts for bringing the beautiful Lolab Valley to the tourism map of J&K.
