Jammu, Nov 14: On the pious occasion of Diwali, Ankush Abrol, Jammu Provincial Joint Secretary of JKNC, and Dr Vikas Sharma, Zonal Secretary, and Coordinator of Jammu District (Urban) JKNC, organized a special program at JRC Home for Handicapped in Udhaywala. The event featured the distribution of sports equipment such as Badminton sets, Carrom Boards, Chess sets, Footballs, and games like Ludo, along with sweet items, to underprivileged children.
The program, spearheaded by Dr Vikas Sharma, had Ankush Abrol as the chief guest. Speaking at the event, Ankush Abrol highlighted the social initiatives undertaken by the National Conference, emphasizing their commitment to helping the needy without discrimination. He urged everyone to come forward and spend time with these children to address their needs. Abrol also acknowledged the guidance and encouragement from Party President Dr Farooq Abdullah, who consistently motivates party workers to contribute to the community regardless of differences.
Dr Vikas further elaborated on the party’s priorities for the development and welfare of the masses. He emphasized the moral duty to unite for noble causes and assured that the party cadre would continue to uphold principles of humanity and humility. Dr Sharma highlighted the legacy of the National Conference in serving the poor and weaker sections, tracing its origins to ‘Sher-e-Kashmir’ Sheikh Mohammad Abdullah.
Drawing attention to the achievements under the NC rule, especially during the leadership of Sher-e-Kashmir Sheikh Mohammad Abdullah, Dr Farooq Abdullah and Omar Abdullah, Dr Vikas Sharma underscored the revolutionary steps taken to foster unity, integrity, prosperity, and brotherhood for the overall development and welfare of the people of J&K, with a focus on the downtrodden sections of society.
Ashwani Kumar, a leader of JKNC, delivered the welcome address, expressing gratitude for the act of philanthropy by the leaders of the J&K National Conference. Satish Sharma, Secretary of JRC Home for Handicapped, presented the vote of thanks, acknowledging the significant contribution to the welfare of the children. Other speakers at the event included Vikram Gupta, Dr Rajesh Singh, and others.
