Jammu, March 15: The District Coordination Committee for Jammu (Urban) of National Conference Central Zone Wednesday held a meeting to discuss various burning issues faced by the general public.
Former minister and Zonal President JKNC Babu Rampaul presided over the meeting.
During the meeting Babu Rampal deliberated in detail the various aspects imperative to strengthen the party at the grass root level.
Rampal opined emphasising on the office bearers to disseminate the information amongst general masses about the good work and achievements made by National Conference Party in Jammu and Kashmir.
He said that the National Conference is a party of masses and hence all the office bearers and party workers must join hands together to raise the voice of the public and their day to day issues for appropriate redressal.
“The administration is imposing tax after tax on the people but has failed to mitigate their sufferings which include rocketing prices of essential commodities”, he added.
“The prices of LPG cylinders are being raised and the cost of a cylinder has reached Rs 1200/- which is too high for a poor family to purchase”.
Former Minister said that unemployment is another major and burning issue which is not being addressed by the government and with meager income the administration wants people to pay property tax which is total injustice. He said that the National Conference will oppose all the anti-people policies of the government and will fight tooth and nail to bring justice.
The NC leader flayed the Govt for its hollow promises to bring “Achhe Din” (good days) as mere basic facilities like water and power are still not fully available as per the requirement of the public.
Besides, Dr Vikas Sharma Coordinator Jammu District (Urban) reiterated the party’s stand with respect to restoration of statehood with full powers to address the aspirations of people.
He mentioned that people have suffered a lot during the last three and half years especially after the abrogation of Article 370, bifurcation of Jammu and Kashmir and downgraded of State to a Union Territory. He also said that NC is fighting and will continue its fight till restoration of statehood to Jammu and Kashmir.
He also appealed to the govt. to fill all the vacant posts in all the departments of J&K administration on a fast track basis.
