Jammu, July 6: In a vibrant celebration of young talent, Natrang presented a remarkable performance of ‘Hum Hain Pratibhavan’ at Abhinav Theatre on Sunday. The play was the outcome of a month-long Children’s Theatre Workshop, an annual initiative by Natrang that continues to nurture creativity and confidence in the region’s youth.As per a statement issued here, the brilliantly written and directed by Sumeet Sharma, a national award-winning theatre director and seasoned children’s trainer, the play served as a testament to the immense talent and potential of the participating children. Natrang’s consistent efforts to channel positive energy into thousands of children across Jammu through the medium of theatre are truly commendable. The occasion was graced by Dr Arun Manhas, JKAS, Director of Industries and Commerce, J&K UT, as the Chief Guest. Alongside Padmashri Balwant Thakur, Director of Natrang, he felicitated the children with certificates and exciting gift hampers, sponsored by Janvi Gupta’s Creamy Creation. Dr Manhas praised Natrang’s pivotal role in spearheading a cultural renaissance in the region. He highlighted the transformative power of theatre in shaping children’s personalities and lauded the team for enabling such confident performances before a packed audience.In his address, Padmashri Balwant Thakur expressed delight at the thought-provoking and energetic performance. He applauded the creative team for offering children a platform to learn, express, and grow into responsible future citizens. Reflecting on the journey of Natrang, he noted that since 1990, its regular children’s theatre programmes have instilled confidence, creativity, and teamwork in thousands of young minds, many of whom are now excelling in diverse fields. The play ‘Hum Hain Pratibhavan’ echoed Natrang’s core vision — that every child possesses innate talent. Children showcased their skills in acting, singing, and dancing, and captivated the audience by reciting excerpts from world, Indian, and regional literature. The performance also included two well-enacted wisdom tales, conveying moral lessons on steering clear of greed and jealousy, earning enthusiastic applause from the audience. The dedicated creative team behind the workshop and production included Neeraj Kant, Pawan Verma, Mohd. Yaseen, Kananpreet Kaur, Kartik Kumar, and Vandana Thakur. The programme was eloquently compered by Riya Jandiyal.
