Jammu, 30-06-2024: Natrangon Sunday staged the Hindi play ‘Koi Aur Raasta,’ written by Pratap Sehgal and directed by Neeraj Kant, at Natrang Studio Theatre, Jammu. This event was part of Natrang’s weekly theatre series, ‘Sunday Theatre.’
‘Koi Aur Raasta’ delves into the complexities of man-woman relationships within the context of marriage, presenting a nuanced exploration that resonated deeply with the audience. The narrative follows Mahesh and Indu, who embark on a love marriage that quickly succumbs to domestic strife and mistrust. Mahesh’s unfounded suspicions of Indu’s infidelity with a mutual friend lead to their eventual divorce. Despite their efforts to move on, they remain emotionally connected. Years later, a chance encounter at a railway station prompts Mahesh to seek reconciliation, only to discover that Indu has remarried. The play, influenced by Ibsen’s ‘A Doll’s House,’ effectively captures the tragic dissolution of a marriage and the lingering impact on both individuals.
The performance was followed by an interactive session led by Balwant Thakur, where the audience engaged with the themes and execution of the play.
The cast included Brijesh Avtar Sharma, Palshin Dutta, Kushal Bhat, Payal Khanna, Priya Kumari, Lalita Sharma, Priyal Ashok Gupta, Vandana Thakur, and Mehak Chib. The play featured lighting design and execution by Neeraj Kant and music by Aadesh Dhar. The show coordination was managed by Mohd. Yaseen, with presentations by Vrinda Gujral.
