Jammu, Aug 25: Natrang presented a scintillating performance of a hindi play, ‘Coffee House Wali Ladki’ in its Sunday Theatre Series at Natrang Studio Theatre.
The play has been written by Dr. Satya Parkash Sangar and directed by Neeraj Kant. It is pertinent to mention here that every Sunday, Natrang features highly relevant plays of different genres, and languages for its audience for their cultural, social and literary orientation. Prominent amongst those who graced the occasion included Angel Kotwal, JKAS, Sanjeev Luthra, Rajeev Luthra and Vinod Padha.
In the play ‘Coffee House Wali Ladki’, a lad is shown as a flirtatious person who makes friendship with girls, spends money on them and makes false promises. As he belonged to a very rich and influential family he did not face any problem till time a girl, knowing his real intentions, decides to teach him a lesson. She meets him at a ‘Coffee House’ and sets a trap to make him confess his habitual mistakes. She very cleverly invites him to meet her in her hostel, where the principal, warden and security were already informed about his visit. When he arrives and flamboyantly declares the reason for his visit, he was exposed before everyone and was threatened to be publically humiliated, moreover his family and the principal of his college were also informed about this. Caught and scared, he expressed repentance for his lies and deceits and pledges to be truthful and respectful towards girls in future.
Those who acted in the play included Brijesh Avtar Sharma, Kananpreet Kaur, Kushal Bhat, Aadesh Dhar, Vrinda Gujral, Lalita Sharma and Palshin Dutta
The lights of the play were designed and executed by Neeraj Kant whereas the music was rendered by Vishal Sharma. The show was coordinated by Mohd. Yaseen and the presentations were done by Mihir Gujral.
Ranjeet Kalra appointed UT-level icon for upcoming assembly elections
Jammu, Aug 24: Ace sports administrator, former cricketer, and Jammu University academician Ranjeet Kalra has been appointed as the UT-level icon by the Office of the Chief Electoral Officer, Jammu and Kashmir, in view of the upcoming General Elections to the J&K Legislative Assembly 2024.
An order issued by the office of the Chief Electoral Officer J&K reads, “You, being a renowned figure as a Sports Administrator and Former Cricketer, have been appointed as UT-level Icon for motivating the general public of Jammu and Kashmir, especially the youth and those eligible but not enrolled as voters. Our combined efforts will definitely result in the enrolment of all such left-out eligible voters and in achieving the Election Commission of India’s theme, i.e., ‘No Voter to be Left Behind.’ Another objective is to increase the voting percentage.”
The appointment letter was handed to Ranjeet Kalra by Pandurang K. Pole (IAS), Chief Electoral Officer of Jammu and Kashmir, during a brief ceremony held at Nirvachan Bhawan, Jammu, in the presence of Ms. Sapna Kotwal (JKAS), Media Nodal Officer SVEEP, J&K, and Sh. Akthar Hussain Qazi (JKAS), Nodal Officer (SVEEP), UT of J&K.
