Jammu, Nov 23: The Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS), Jammu and Kashmir Branch Office (JKBO) made a significant impact at the National Agricultural Summit 2024, held at SKUAST Chatha, Jammu, from November 20 to 23, 2024.
The BIS set up four stalls showcasing its initiatives, standards, and quality-focused activities, attracting widespread attention from students, academicians, progressive farmers and the general public.
A highlight of the summit was the enthusiastic participation of over 450 students from 14 Standards Clubs of Jammu, Samba, Kathua and Kishtwar districts established under the BIS-JKBO. Through interactive exhibits and engaging activities, these young ambassadors highlighted the importance of quality and standardization in agriculture and allied sectors.
On the concluding evening of the Summit, BIS was honoured with the prestigious ‘Prashansha Award’ in recognition of its exemplary contributions to promoting standards and quality awareness. The award ceremony, held at SKUAST Conference Hall, was graced by distinguished dignitaries, including Ghulam Ali Khatana, Member of Parliament (Rajya Sabha), Prof B. N. Tripathi, Vice Chancellor of SKUAST Jammu, and Narinder Singh Raina, MLA North Jammu.
Ashish Kumar Dwivedi, Standard Promotion Officer, BIS-JKBO, received the award on behalf of BIS, marking a proud moment for the organization.
