Budgam, Jan 21: In a bid to foster the spirit of sportsmanship and talent development among the youth, the J&K Ball Badminton Association is set to host the highly anticipated “My Youth My Pride District Budgam Ball Badminton Championship for Boys & Girls 2023-24.” The event, spanning two action-packed days, will feature competitions across all age groups, including Mini, Sub Junior, Junior, Youth, and Senior categories.
Scheduled to take place from January 28 to January 29, 2024, at the Govt Boys High School Peth-Makhama Magam (Budgam), the tournament has gained significant support from the J&K Sports Council, serving as the primary sponsor. Organized under the banner of “My Youth My Pride,” the initiative aims to provide a platform for budding talents to showcase their skills and passion for ball badminton.
To ensure a seamless registration process, the J&K Ball Badminton Association has urged all affiliated clubs, colleges, institutions, and schools interested in participating to register or submit their entries via WhatsApp at 9103146658. Notably, the deadline for player entries is set for January 28, 2024, and no on-spot registrations will be entertained.
The draw for the championship matchups is slated to occur on January 28, 2024, at 11:00 am at the venue, providing eager participants and spectators alike with an early glimpse of the anticipated matchups. All matches during the competition will adhere to the rules set by the Ball Badminton Federation of India.
Adding an element of significance to the championship, the event will serve as a talent pool for the selection of players to represent the district in the upcoming UT Level Championship. This provides players with an additional incentive to deliver exceptional performances during the tournament.
For further details and inquiries, interested parties are encouraged to contact Basit Riyaz, the Organizing Secretary of the event, at 9103146658.
