Ganderbal, Dec 09: The Motor Vehicle Department (MVD) conducted an intensified drive against traffic rule violators along the Wayil Bridge-Manigam Bypass stretch under the supervision of Inspector MVD Ganderbal, Manzoor Qureshi. The drive, carried out under the directions of Assistant Regional Transport Officer (ARTO) Ganderbal, aims to promote road safety and encourage compliance with the Motor Vehicles Act.
Inspector Manzoor Qureshi emphasized the importance of proper documentation and adherence to traffic rules. “No vehicle should be on the road without proper documentation, and violators will face strict legal action. Our intensified drives have already shown positive results, as more drivers are complying with the rules,” he stated.
The department checked speed meters and vehicle documents while ensuring that bikers, especially minors, wore helmets and adhered to traffic regulations. “We appeal to parents and guardians to ensure their wards do not ride vehicles without a valid driving license. Allowing unlicensed individuals to drive poses significant risks to everyone on the road,” the ARTO added.
Meanwhile, the Traffic Police in Kangan has also stepped up efforts to curb violations. The officials checked vehicles for proper documentation and penalized those who failed to comply. Special attention was given to bikers riding without helmets and minors operating vehicles.
The authorities reiterated the importance of adhering to traffic rules, maintaining proper speed limits, and using safety gear to prevent accidents. They urged all vehicle owners and drivers to act responsibly for the safety of all road users.
Both the MVD and Traffic Police assured that these drives would continue in the future to ensure disciplined and safe driving practices across the district.
