In his address, MP Haji Hanifa Jan shared his passion for sports and the pride he feels seeing athletes from Ladakh excel on national and international platforms. “I’m delighted to witness such dedication, particularly the increasing support from parents for their children, especially girls, to pursue sports as a profession. This is a wonderful sign for the future of sports in Ladakh,” he said. Haji Hanifa also assured that he would meet with sports associations soon to create a plan to improve sports infrastructure and opportunities in the region.
Col Rupan Chaterjee commended the progress made in Kargil’s sporting environment, applauding the athletes for their professionalism. “It’s impressive to see such enthusiasm and skill, showing that sports have truly reached every corner of our country,” he added.
TanzinG Chogyal Mankhangpa General Secretary of the Ladakh Amateur Boxing Association, expressed his gratitude to MP Ladakh for his support, emphasizing that the event is a result of six years of hard work by the Association. “This championship is the culmination of our efforts over the past six years, and we’re confident that it will continue to grow and improve in the years to come,” said Chogyal.
