Pulwama, Dec 18 : A programme was held at Noorpora area of Awantipora in South Kashmir’s Pulwama district on Monday to observe the Viksit Bharat Sankalp Yatra.
The ongoing Viksit Sankalp Yatra has covered more than 184 Panchayat Halqas in the district from past 24 days.
Deputy Commissioner Dr. Basharat Qayoom led the gathering at Noorpora Tral, joined by SSP Awantipora, ADC Awantipora, DDC members, and various other officers.
The event showcased government achievements and schemes through department stalls, accompanied by sports activities and a spirited tug of war.
A recorded message from the Hon’ble Prime Minister resonated with the Yatra’s vision, followed by the Sankalp pledge administered by the Deputy Commissioner.
Deputy Commissioner Pulwama, Dr Basharat Qayoom, told media that the Viksit Sankalp Yatra is progressing in a celebratory mood and people are participating at every Panchayat Halqa.
“We are happy to witness the Yatra today here at Noorpora Panchayat in Awantipora,” he said, adding that the purpose of this Yatra is to achieve saturation of various government schemes along with creating awareness among people about these schemes.
He added that many of the government schemes have been saturated in Pulwama.
“The new eligible candidates are continuously enrolled,” he said, adding that this is a people’s programme and they are participating in it with great enthusiasm due to which it is progressing very successfully.
The Deputy Commissioner Pulwama narrated that they aim to reach every Panchayat Halqa and will cover those Panchayat Halqa catering to large population for the second time.
He said that they are reaching out to people through different outreach programmes and assured all target areas will be covered for saturation of government schemes.
