Udhampur, Dec 29: Member of Legislative Assembly (MLA) from Udhampur East, Ranbir Singh Pathania on Sunday said reaching the last man in the last row is the cherished target and mission of Modi government.
“In the last 10 years, the Modi government has made consistent efforts to transform the lives of people who were previously exploited and neglected,” he said while addressing a “Dhanyavaad Sabha” at village Nakki of Majalta Tehsil.
Pathania cited various social welfare programmes such as Jan Dhan Yojana, Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana, Ujjwala Yojana, Swachh Bharat Mission, PM Kisan Samman Nidhi and others, which he said have directly benefited the common people.
“The central government’s focus remains on uplifting the marginalised sections of society,” he said, adding that transforming the socio-economic profile of Jammu and Kashmir is a key agenda of the Modi government.
The BJP leader expressed satisfaction over the positive impact of various schemes in Udhampur district and called on officers to be vigilant, active and diligent in making people aware of these schemes to ensure they take full advantage of the benefits.
Pathania highlighted the importance of infrastructure and connectivity. He announced a robust network of roads set to be commissioned next year.
Addressing the pressing issue of drinking water, Pathania reaffirmed the Government of India’s commitment to ensure potable drinking water is made affordable for all. He said efforts would be made on a war footing to achieve this goal, benefiting every household.
On education, he spoke about the planned upgradation of middle schools at Nakki and Baryalta, promising that these upgrades would be completed in the near future to provide better educational facilities to the students.
The MLA highlighted the need for improved healthcare facilities, particularly during the winter months. With snow and waterborne diseases posing a significant health threat, he called on the administration to be prepared and take necessary measures to tackle potential epidemics. He also emphasised the establishment of state-of-the-art healthcare and animal care facilities to ensure the well-being of both people and livestock during harsh winters.
Addressing the issue of infrastructure blockages, he stressed the urgent need to resolve the ongoing problems with drinking water channels, road channels, and irrigation channels in link roads. These issues, if not resolved promptly, could hinder progress and development in the region.
Pathania urged the authorities to maintain buffer stocks of transformers and to ensure that faulty transformers are repaired swiftly. Ensuring a reliable and uninterrupted power supply was one of the key points raised in his speech, as he vowed to ensure that people have access to vital electricity services.
