Jammu, Feb 24: The senior BJP leader and former union minister, Anurag Thakur, on Monday said that the Modi government is committed for overall development of J&K and promoting tourism here.
“Two Vande Bharat trains have been given to J&K and 50 tourism sites of J&K will also to be developed on a fast-track basis, which will prove to be a game changer in both development and tourism promotion in J&K,” Thakur said, while addressing a press conference, here at Jammu today morning.
Projects of Modi government like increase in the number of Airports, AIIMS, IIITs, IIMs, Universities, Medical Colleges, increase in PG seats, electrification of railway lines, length of National Highways, rural roads, profit of Banks, tax benefit up to twelve lakh income and many more are a testimony enough about Modi Government’s commitment to make J&K as the most developed region of the country, Thakur said.
In response to a question, Thakur said that Pakistan destabilized itself only due to its animosity against India but India never had evil intentions for our neighboring country.
“Pakistan is being given a befitting response for mischief on the borders and if it does not end its nefarious activities, our forces know how to take care of it,” Thakur said.
Asked about Modi nominating Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah among the 10 people from different walks of life to fight obesity, Thakur said the prime minister’s initiative would help create health awareness among the country’s 140 crore people and reduce the burden on health infrastructure.
Thakur also welcomed the formation of a new party by a group of former leaders of the banned Jamaat-e-Islami in Kashmir to contest elections and work for the return of displaced Kashmiri pandits, saying everyone should make an attempt in this direction.
He also demanded that Rohingya immigrants living in Jammu and Kashmir be identified and deported.
