Saif-ud-din Bhat, a prominent leader of the National Conference and Member of the Legislative Assembly (MLA) representing the Khansahib constituency, has declared that his primary objective is to tackle the fundamental issues faced by his constituents while promoting the development of tourist attractions within the area.
In an interview with Rising Kashmir, Bhat expressed his gratitude to the voters for their support in electing him as their representative during the recent assembly elections. He emphasized his commitment to addressing the numerous challenges that have arisen over the past seven years in the absence of an elected government in Jammu and Kashmir.
“I have been involved in politics for the past 16 years, dedicating my efforts to the welfare of the people in the Khansahib constituency. During my time at college and Kashmir University, I served as president of the student association at both institutions while also engaging in social work to support students. I have consistently provided assistance to students in their educational pursuits,” Bhat stated.
Following the recent delimitation process, certain areas of the Khansahib tehsil were incorporated into the Beerwah assembly constituency, while the Khag tehsil was added to Khansahib. Bhat regarded this as a significant opportunity for the residents of both tehsils, who successfully voted for him and his party, ultimately leading to his victory in the assembly elections.
In response to inquiries regarding the party’s manifesto for the Khansahib constituency, Bhat noted that the party had already published its manifesto prior to the elections, ensuring that residents would receive adequate benefits and relief. His primary focus, he said, will be on the tourism sector, highlighting the presence of two renowned tourist destinations within the area. Bhat intends to develop a comprehensive master plan for these locations, aiming to enhance their appeal to both local and international tourists, which in turn will create employment opportunities for the youth in the tourism industry.
Additionally, he underscored the importance of solar projects and the provision of essential facilities in every village of the Khansahib constituency as top priorities during his tenure.
Regarding demands from the Khag tehsil for a degree college and a sub-district hospital, Bhat assured that all requests from the area would be addressed. He expressed his commitment to facilitating the establishment of a degree college and a sub-district hospital, which would provide significant relief to students and residents alike.
Bhat also extended his gratitude to the constituents of the five assembly constituencies in the Budgam district for their support, which led to the success of all party candidates in the elections. He acknowledged the responsibility to address the concerns of his constituents and affirmed his readiness to visit every locality to implement various schemes and projects that would benefit the community.
“The residents of the five assembly constituencies have contributed to the success of all five candidates in the district. The five MLAs from Budgam will collaborate to ensure comprehensive development for our district, with our party and chief minister placing greater emphasis on Budgam. The people of Budgam have high expectations from our party, as evidenced by the recent assembly elections,” Bhat said.
In his message to the people of the Khansahib constituency, he expressed his gratitude for their support and votes. “My doors will always be open to my constituents. I am committed to working for their welfare. The people have entrusted me as their representative for the next five years, and during this time, we will address all the issues facing my constituency. Each problem will be systematically resolved over the course of these five years,” Bhat asserted.
