MLA Haveli inaugurates construction of Govt Degree College, road project in Mandi, Poonch

Poonch, Dec 15: Member of the Legislative Assembly (MLA) Haveli, Ajaz Ahmed Jan, on Tuesday inaugurated the construction work of the Government Degree College Mandi building along with a key road project in Mandi tehsil of Poonch district.
The inauguration ceremony was attended by a large gathering including party workers, activists, local dignitaries, senior district and tehsil-level officers from various departments, members of the media fraternity, and residents of the area.
Expressing happiness over the start of the long-awaited projects, local residents thanked MLA Jan, Chief Minister Omar Abdullah, and Education Minister Sakeena Itoo for taking concrete steps towards strengthening educational infrastructure in the region.
Speakers on the occasion said the construction of the Government Degree College Mandi building had remained stalled for several years due to political differences and the absence of an elected public government. As a result, students of the college were facing serious difficulties due to the lack of proper facilities, which was adversely affecting their education, he said
They added that after the formation of a popular government in Jammu and Kashmir, many stalled development projects have now resumed, bringing much-needed relief to the public.
Addressing the gathering, MLA Jan said the construction of the college building would not only provide better educational facilities to students of Mandi tehsil but would also generate employment opportunities for local youth. He accused previous governments of neglecting development work in the area over the past decade.
The MLA expressed gratitude to the local people, government officials, CM Abdullah, Sakeena Itoo, and journalists for their support and cooperation. He assured the public that work on other development projects would also be initiated soon to ensure overall progress and development of the region.
