MLA Bishnah calls on LG, submits memorandum of public demands

Jammu, Dec 29: Member of Legislative Assembly (MLA) Bishnah, Dr Rajeev Kumar Bhagat on Sunday called on Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha at Raj Bhawan here and submitted a comprehensive memorandum outlining demands pertaining to the constituency.
The primary agenda was to advocate for enhanced infrastructural development in the constituency and also discussed several important matters of public importance pertaining to Bishnah constituency, the MLA said in a statement issued here.
He said the prominent demands of Bishnah constituency comprise creation of New Degree College at Arnia for the youth of Border Villages, creation of new ITI College at Bishnah, special package for beautification of two Bishnah and Arnia towns, drug de-addiction centre, ugradation of PHC Arnia to emergency hospital, special recruitment drive for border villages, double lane road from Kunjwani to Arnia, separate feeder for farmers for agriculture pump sets, birdges on AIK, sanction of ENT, orthopedic and dermatologist posts at SDH Bishnah, sports stadium each at Bishnah and Arnia, improvement of irrigation system for agriculture purpose upto Jabowal so that irrigation water to be provided to the farmers for irrigation purpose, bifurcation of family ration cards, waiving electricity bills to the weaker section of the society those who are not in a position to pay (widow, handicapped, orphan, etc.), guest house at BDO Office Bishnah, improvement of Dak Bungalow Pandorian and Canal Front view from Chack Avtara Circular road to RKS School Bishnah.
Dr Rajeev apprised the Lieutenant Governor of other public concerns and grievances stemming from the infrastructural deficit in Bishnah constituency.
The LG gave a patient hearing to MLA and assured him that all the major demands put forward would be redressed on priority, the statement said.
The MLA expressed satisfaction over the “visionary approach” of LG towards changing the perception of J&K in the rest of the world. “I am grateful to LG for his tireless efforts in engaging with the people of J&K towards early solution of their various problems,” Dr Rajeev said, adding, “LG has inspired renewed confidence and brought positive changes on the ground through his initiatives.” He thanked LG Sinha for his “tireless efforts” in championing their cause.
Dr Rajeev said he has a dream to make Bishnah a model constituency of Jammu and Kashmir. “I want to provide every facility to the people of my constituency. They voted me for development; now I want to fulfill their dream and make every effort in this regard,” he said.
