Srinagar, Aug 03: Additional Director General of Police (ADGP) Kashmir Zone, Vijay Kumar on Thursday said that the missing Armyman from south Kashmir’s Kulgam district has been traced and investigation is underway in the case.
ADGP Kumar told Rising Kashmir that the missing Armyman was found by Kulgam Police. After proper medical check-up, joint interrogation will be conducted and more details will be shared later in this regard, he said.
On Saturday, Javaid Ahmad Wani, 25, a resident of Achathal village in Kulgam, went missing after he left for Chawalgam village, in the same district, to buy eatables for home.
Later, Wani’s car was found at Paranhal village, about 9 kms from his Achathal residence. The police said while the car was unlocked, Wani’s slippers and some bloodstains were found inside the vehicle. Wani is serving in the Jammu and Kashmir Light Infantry and is posted in Ladakh. He had proceeded on leave to celebrate Eid last month. Fearing that he may have been abducted by terrorists, his mother released a video message pleading for his safe return.
