
Srinagar, May 16 :Mirwaiz-e-Kashmir, Dr. Moulvi Muhammad Umar Farooq, expressed deep grief over the demise of Abdul Rouf Fazili of Qamarwari, Srinagar, retired Deputy Conservator of Forests, a close relation of the Mirwaiz family, and a noted literary figure.
Remembering him as a dignified, intellectual, and refined personality, the Mirwaiz said that Abdul Rouf Fazili Sahib earned admiration and respect for both his professional integrity and literary contributions.
He particularly noted his scholarly engagement with the thought and philosophy of Allama Iqbal and his valuable translation of “Awrad-e-Fatheeya” into English.
The Mirwaiz termed his passing as a significant loss to the literary and intellectual circles of Kashmir and recalled the longstanding bond and close association between the two families.
The Nimaz-e-Jinazah of the deceased was led by the Mirwaiz, where a large number of relatives, admirers, and well-wishers from different walks of life participated. Mufti Azam Jammu & Kashmir, Mufti Nasir-ul-Islam, who is also closely related to the deceased, was among those present at the funeral prayers.
The Mirwaiz prayed for maghfirah and the highest place in Jannat for the departed soul and conveyed his heartfelt condolences to the bereaved family, especially his son Abdul Rafia Fazili, praying for strength and patience for them to bear this irreparable loss.
