New Delhi, Mar 16: All India Congress Committee (AICC) General Secretary & former JKPCC President Ghulam Ahmad Mir on Saturday said that the party cadres are duty-bound to abide by the directions and decisions of the high command. He also said that the INDIA block – the amalgamation of several parties – needs to maintain unity to overcome the challenges.
Mir lauded Congress cadres as disciplined soldiers of the party and expressed unwavering confidence in their adherence to the policies, programs, and decisions of the Party High Command. He urged Congress leaders and workers to exhibit confidence and earnestly comply with the party’s directives.
Emphasizing the importance of respecting the decisions of the Party High Command, particularly regarding the forthcoming Lok Sabha Elections and organizational matters in Jammu and Kashmir, Mir stressed the need for fervently welcoming and abiding by such decisions.
Regarding the 2024 Lok Sabha Elections, Mir asserted that the upcoming polls pose greater challenges due to the BJP’s readiness to go to any lengths for power. In response, he emphasized the necessity for the INDIA block, comprising various parties, to remain strong and unified to counter the divisive policies and political exploitation perpetrated by the BJP.
Highlighting the ongoing Bharat Jodo NYAV YATRA, the former JKPCC chief mentioned that the yatra will culminate at Shiva Ji Park in Maharashtra on March 17 after covering a distance of 6700 kilometres.
“The yatra aims to advocate for justice for every section of society, including farmers, youth, women, unemployed individuals, and small business owners, who have been adversely affected by the BJP’s policies,” he said.
He reaffirmed the Congress Party’s commitment to ensuring justice and the well-being of all citizens, emphasizing the yatra’s significance as a manifestation of the party’s relentless fight for justice and commitment to the people’s welfare.
