Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports (MYAS) is funding the participation of the Indian contingent for the upcoming World Athletics Championships, which will be held in Budapest, Hungary from 19th August 2023 onwards. A 42-member contingent, including coaches and support staff, is heading for the world event which will have the best of the best athletes from across the world competing.
As per the press release, in the previous edition, a total of 6 individuals reached the finals at the World Championships in 2022 with 3 of them making it to TOP 8 Finishes & Neeraj returning with a historic silver medal. This was India’s best performance in any edition of the World Athletics Championships.(ANI)
