In a nocturnal fire incident, a baker’s shop in a complex was gutted in Wandevalgam village in Kokernag tehsil, officials said.
An official said, the blaze caused damage in a shopping complex and was doused off by the locals and Fire And Emergency Department.
“During night hours, due to unknown reasons, a fire broke out in a baker’s shop belonging to Mohd Hussain Sheikh son of Abdul Gaffar Sheikh. The fire was doused off however it has caused damage to the shop,” he said.
A fire and emergency official said, the complex with the double-storey was involved in a fire incident that caused partial damage to it.
He said, as per preliminary assessment property worth 40 lakhs was involved in the incident, however, property worth 8 lakhs was gutted in the fire incident.
