Former Chief Minister of Jammu and Kashmir and Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) President, Mehbooba Mufti on Thursday filed her nominations for the Anantnag Rajouri parliamentary constituency at the Returning Officer (RO) office in Anantnag.
She was accompanied by senior party members and workers.
Mufti said that this election transcends issues like electricity, power, and roads; rather, it’s about safeguarding rights in the wake of the 2019 events and resisting assaults on jobs.
She said that it’s time to unite against such assaults, and said, “This isn’t about NC, PDP, or any other party; it’s about J&K being turned into an open jail. Where resources like minerals and power projects are being wrested from us, aiming to reduce us to mere laborers,” she said, adding that they won’t allow that to happen.
She urged people not to boycott the elections, and implored them to cast their votes for candidates advocating justice for J&K residents.
